Afternoon tea at Christchurch

tea party- avril

Afternoon tea party held at Christchurch Bastable Avenue. We have had  various venues since the Crooked Billet changed hands.

Following the closure of our “spiritual home” we were, for a short while,  cast adrift. However, the licensees of The Lighterman, in Bastable   Avenue, stepped in and allowed us to use their premises, temporarily, for  our meeting and events.

We were also delighted to be offered the use of Christchurch, also in Bastable Avenue, for tea parties and quiz nights. We held several tea parties there and were delighted to be joined by lots of people from the local community for a natter and a cup of tea and cake, all accompanied by ‘Manny’, on the piano. During the tea parties we always have our Creekmouth photos for anyone who wants to look through them and find out more about the village and Creekmouth Preservation Society.  A small raffle is always held plus an extra ‘free’ raffle where everyone gets a free ticket for the chance of winning a box of chocolates or tin of biscuits.
